Professional Land Surveyor and Co-Owner
Career Summary:
Nathan began his land surveying education in 1993 while serving with the United States Marine Corps Reserves. After completing his military training and education, he continued his studies at Mid-State Technical College, enrolling in the Civil Engineering Technology program.
Nathan’s land surveying career started in Central Wisconsin, where he worked for two local engineering firms and a foundation construction company. During this time, he gained valuable field and office experience and became a licensed Professional Land Surveyor in 2000.
In 2004, Nathan co-founded Riverside Land Surveying, helping grow the company from two surveyors working out of a garage into a firm operating three survey crews supported by office staff. In 2012, he joined a local engineering firm to pursue an opportunity to manage a survey department and expand his expertise in airport surveying projects throughout Wisconsin. While in this role, Nathan project managed multiple real estate projects for the Wisconsin Department of Transportation Bureau of Aeronautics, along with numerous Wisconsin Department of Transportation survey master contract projects.
Nathan rejoined Riverside Land Surveying as a co-owner in 2017, where he has continued to help expand the firm to five survey crews serving North Central Wisconsin.
With more than 33 years of experience, Nathan brings extensive knowledge in project management, quality assurance, drafting, and the preparation of Transportation Project Plats (TPPs), standard right-of-way plats, WisDOT and Bureau of Aeronautics topographic design surveys, ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, Certified Survey Maps, subdivision plats, assessor’s plats, easement exhibits, and legal descriptions. His expertise also includes boundary retracement surveys, title research, and Public Land Survey System (PLSS) remonumentation. He has personally remonumented more than 500 PLSS corners across Lincoln, Marathon, and Waupaca Counties.
Nathan has significant construction-related surveying experience, including residential and commercial foundation layout, as well as construction staking for roads, airports, bridges, and commercial developments.
Nathan is an active member of the Wisconsin Society of Land Surveyors and the National Society of Professional Surveyors.
Outside of work, Nathan has a strong passion for the outdoors and enjoys hunting, fishing, mountain biking, hiking and water skiing.
